I made "The Treasure Chest" in 1968, with the help of my brother in law and sister, in celebration of my parents Silver Annaversery.
The 4 children planned a surprise party. The Chest was filled with silver coin by friends and family. At the party one key was presented to each parent. The two locks were designed to symbolize the unity needed to make a marriage last
.
The chest, which measures 18" x 10" x 10", is all hand made including all of the Brass metal work, hinges, handles, latches etc.The old locks were found items. The wood is solid Walnut, finished in hand rubbed oil.
